Shopify Payments US: What information should you prepare before applying?

Shopify Payments helps stores receive payments right within the Shopify system, but support conditions and verification records are determined by country, business type, and owner information. Therefore, having a US company does not automatically guarantee account approval.

Check country and conditions of use first

Shopify announced List of supported countries. When registering in the US, read the page Requirements for Shopify Payments US to determine the appropriate business type, representative and banking information.

Information groups should prepare

• Business registration information and identification number as requested in Shopify's form.
• Representative information, beneficial owners and identity verification documents when required by the platform.
• Bank account information receiving payment, sales website, products and store policies.
• Consistent address and contact information between business profiles, payment accounts, and stores.

If the platform requires additional records?

Watch for notifications in Shopify Admin, provide the correct type of documentation requested, and avoid submitting inconsistent information. Shopify may change requirements according to specific circumstances; Only the official notification in the account will indicate which records need to be added. A general listing should not be considered a guarantee of activation.
